Getting there

• Chetumal Airport (CTM), about 3.7 km from downtown, with domestic flights (for example from Mexico City).
• Maya Train: connects Chetumal with Cancún, Tulum and Palenque.
• ADO: from Cancún about 4.5–5 h; from Playa del Carmen and Tulum, around 3 h. The main terminal is about 2 km north of downtown.
• By car: Highway 307; from Bacalar Lagoon, 30–40 min.
• Water taxis to Belize (San Pedro and Caye Caulker) and a land crossing to Belize from the area.
