Xcalak

Getting there

• About 650 km from Cancún airport (6–7 h by car): Highway 307 toward Chetumal, exit to Mahahual, then about 60 km of jungle road to Xcalak.
• The last stretch is narrow with potholes; 4x4 is not required.
• Fill up in Felipe Carrillo Puerto or Mahahual (no gas station in Xcalak); bring cash.
• By bus: ADO to Chetumal, then the Caribe bus (two departures a day, about 4 h) to Xcalak.
• The local airstrip is military: no commercial flights.
